Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 June 2026
1. Who we are
Brahmavi (“Brahmavi”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides AI-assisted Vedic astrology guidance through our website and applications (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how we handle it, and the rights you have over it.
We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) and, where it applies to you, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For the purposes of these laws, Brahmavi is the data controller (DPDP: Data Fiduciary) for the personal data described here.
2. The data we collect
Identity and contact details: your name, email address, and (optionally) your mobile number and country.
Birth details: your date, time, and place of birth, including the city and its geographic coordinates. We treat these as sensitive because they are central to your astrological chart, and we use them only for that purpose.
Preferences: your chosen guidance language, your preferred guide (Brahmavi), and your communication opt-ins.
Content we generate for you: your computed charts, divisional charts, dashas, daily guidance, and (where you use it) your conversations with a Brahmavi.
Payment information: if you make a voluntary offering (dakshina) or subscribe, payments are processed by our payment partner. We receive confirmation of a transaction but do not store your full card or bank details on our servers.
Technical and usage data: sign-in session cookies, IP address, device and browser information, and basic logs needed to operate and secure the Service.
3. How we use your data
To compute your astrological chart from your birth details and to generate personalised guidance.
To create and secure your account and authenticate your sign-in.
To deliver guidance and service messages by email, and — only where you have opted in — by WhatsApp.
To process voluntary offerings and subscriptions, where you choose to make them.
To operate, maintain, secure, debug, and improve the Service, and to comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your birth details for advertising.
4. Our legal basis
Where GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (for example, to process your birth details and to send opt-in messages); the performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service you request); and our legitimate interests (to keep the Service secure and working), balanced against your rights.
Where DPDP applies, we process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you provide your details and use the Service. You may withdraw consent at any time, as described in Section 11.
5. Service providers we share data with
We use a small number of trusted processors to run Brahmavi. They process data only on our instructions and only to provide their service to us:
Supabase — authentication and database hosting (stores your account and chart data).
Vercel — hosting of our web application.
Railway — the computation service that calculates your chart from your birth details.
Google — sign-in (Google OAuth) and place look-up for your birth city (Google Maps/Places).
Resend — delivery of transactional and service emails.
Anthropic — the AI service that helps generate your written guidance (see Section 7).
Where you choose to use them, we also work with a payment provider (for offerings and subscriptions), a WhatsApp messaging partner (only if you opt in), and, as we introduce voice and video guidance, voice and avatar providers. We will keep this list current as the Service evolves.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers operate outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where your data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the providers’ contractual data-protection commitments) and process it in line with applicable law.
7. AI-generated guidance
Your written guidance is produced with the help of an AI language model. To generate it, information derived from your chart (and, where you use the chat, the questions you ask) is sent to our AI provider, which processes it to return guidance and does not use it to train its models for this purpose.
Guidance is generated for reflection and insight. It is not a statement of fact about your future and not professional advice. Please read our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.
8. Messaging and consent
We send essential service emails (such as sign-in links and account messages) as part of providing the Service. We send WhatsApp messages only to users who explicitly opt in, through our messaging partner. You can stop opt-in messages at any time by replying STOP or by turning them off in your profile.
9. Cookies and sessions
We use only the cookies necessary to keep you signed in and to keep the Service secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
10. How long we keep your data
We keep your account and chart data for as long as your account is active, so the Service remains useful to you. If you ask us to delete your data, or you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records to meet a legal obligation.
11. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may: access the personal data we hold about you; correct it if it is inaccurate; ask us to delete it; withdraw a consent you have given; and, where GDPR applies, request a copy of your data in a portable form and object to certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email us using the contact below and we will act on your request. You also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority (in India, the Data Protection Board; in the EU/UK, your local supervisory authority).
12. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and database-level row security so that, by default, you can only access your own records. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and to respond promptly to any incident.
13. Children
The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly create profiles for children. If you believe a minor has provided us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service grows or the law changes. We will revise the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
15. Contact & grievances
For any question, request, or complaint about your data, contact our grievance contact at astroneelamrawat@gmail.com. We aim to respond within the timelines required by applicable law.
